We are yuma ' s source for premium quality, super healthy and delicious free range eggs!. We operate all year round thanks to our amazing happy yuma chickens that are still producing eggs in this incredible yuma heat!
fresh eggs in yuma is the "business end" of the Happy Yuma Chickens Rescue Ranch. The ranch rescues discarded chickens and ducks and provides them with a happy healthy home with lots of love and all the healthy food they desire.
Fresh egg 's mission is to provide the yuma community with Premium quality, free range "nest run" (straight from the chickens), eggs. At affordable prices. All the proceeds from the sale of the eggs goes directly to the ranch for the care and feeding of the chickens.
A DIFFERENT FOCUS
Instead of Focusing on Maximizing Profits, we concentrate on keeping our Animal Partners as Happy and as Healthy as possible. We give them lots of love and the best environment possible, as well as the best naturallly balanced and nutritious feed for whatever life stage they are in.
They intern produce the highest quality, healthiest eggs possible.
We distribute these eggs to the Yuma Community as well as possible, even delivering them to your door if necessary!
It's Win Win For Everyone!
A Normal Beginnning
A Normal Beginning:
We Started with 15 chickens and that was more than enough. We originally
planned on 9 and then somehow due to "chicken math" ended up with 15 chickens
and 4 ducks. But that was it, or at least that's what we thought was it. We just
wanted enough eggs to feed our family. We just wanted to know where our food
was coming from and what it ate, before we consumed it.
Until One Day I went to the Feed Store to get more chick feed:
Turns out the Feed Store had gotten a Surprise Shipment of 200 (yes Two
Hundred) of the cutest baby chicks, right at the end of their season. They didn't
order them, the hatchery just sent them.
Happy and Very Lucky Yuma Chickens!:
Problem was, the day I walked in was the day the Feed Store
had to get rid of all the chicks and put up a new display in their place
(Corporate orders, not their idea). Believe me I had no intentions of getting any
more chicks, until I heard about their plight.
A Chicken Rescue:
Those chicks needed a good new home, and we had one to give. So now
we are in the Egg Business!
Our Chickens Work for Food:
All Proceeds from the sale of our eggs go toward housing and
mostly FEEDING the chickens. I mean that literally.
MYTH: Chickens Eat Like Birds:
More like, well, hungry chickens that lay lots of eggs.
In order to pay for all the food they consume (and it isn't chicken
scratch, cause that's not real food), we need to sell the eggs we can't
consume. Don't worry we have plenty for us...
