Feedstore needs us to take home 200

leftover chickes they did not order and needed out that day. We load the chicks in boxes and stuff my Buick with chicks.

Happy Yuma Chicken Rescue Ranch is

born!.

PROJECT ​4

A local Feed Store tells us of a Disabled Duck owner in need of help.

 

We contact the owner and arrange for the Duck to be re-homned, she is now part of of our flock of 24 ducks, 4 are disabled but manage pretty well with our specialized"ducky physical therapy".

PROJECT 2

A Family In California have 12 beautiful Chickens they raised, but had to re-home because their work schedules changed and there would be no one home to tend to them.

PROJECT 

May 2015 we start rescueing heritage breeds: "breeds that were fairly common on farms dating back to the 1800's but are becoming rare and endangered" due to moder "Factory Egg Farming" which pretty much uses only 1 breed of chicken.

PROJECT 3

A big egg farm in California, was Retiring chickens that reached the ripe old Age. of 2 years old. We Rescued 40. They where pasture raised, but really stressed/distressed birds. They are really happy and contented now and still laying big brown eggs.

PROJECT 6

May-Current: We rescued 200 left over feedstore chicks at the end of the season and are raising them with the goal osf doubling our egg output for the Fall .

Sept: Rescued 65 Egg Laying Chickens from a 4H Girl who was moving and couldn't keep them anymore
